Generated quotes were created by fine tuning GPT-2 with over forty years worth of Trump interview transcripts. In general, NLP models are fluent but incoherent. Their output sounds real to a non-native speaker, but the contents aren't logically consistent as the length of the text grows. Fittingly enough, the 45th president of the United States is also a fluent English speaker who is well known for his incoherent intervew responses. To those readers who are concerned about synthetic text and it's potential for propagating misinfo campaigns, keep in mind that it would be orders of magnitude easier to have a human write fake quotes.
